Please see the information below regarding counterfeit products/parallel imported products as well as our actions against counterfeit products.

Counterfeit Products

We have confirmed that counterfeit products are sold on e-commerce sites etc. Please beware that counterfeit products may cause the following issues.

1. Quality

Counterfeit products may be inferior in performance to our products.

2. Safety

There may be issues with safety, so counterfeit products may cause risks to life and health.

3. Reliability

Use of counterfeit consumables may result in damage to the products.

4. Compliance

The manufacturing and sale of counterfeit products infringes our patents, trademarks, design rights, copyrights, and other intellectual properties.

Please note that we are not responsible for any problems or issues resulting from use of counterfeit products.

How to Identify Genuine Products

Battery

In order to identify genuine Sumitomo Electric batteries, there are several tricks hidden in the label. - Text color and background color are interchanged. (White to black and black to white) - Background color (aqua and rose) disappear while tilted.

Parallel Imports

Please beware that parallel imported products outside of our authorized sales network may cause the following issues.

1.Applicable Language

Your preferred language may not be displayed. We set different on-screen languages on fusion splicers based on the sales regions. Parallel imported products outside the original sales region may not be able to display your preferred language.

2.Product Safety

There may be issues with safety. We manufacture products in accordance with the safety standards of the sales regions. Parallel imported products outside the original sales region may not be suitable for use in your region.

3.Maintenance Service

Our authorized maintenance centers take maintenance training courses only for the products being sold in their sales region. Parallel imported products outside the original sales region may not be able to receive appropriate maintenance services from authorized maintenance centers.
